Dragonfly

“Dragonfly” – TylaDubya’s debut album – was released on September 8, 2017. Composed of ten original beatbox compositions, the album masterfully employs elements of various genres including trap, dubstep, and even swing music.  These ten featured songs perfectly blend dark vibes, headbanging rhythms, and creative lyrics that will stick with you all day. While most of TylaDubya’s music is inspired by random thoughts, feelings, or even movies, the title track “Dragonfly” was inspired by his cousin, who passed away, but is remembered through the symbol of a dragonfly given their short but fast-paced and fulfilled lives. TylaDubya later dedicated the entire album to his cousin’s memory.

TylaDubya was passionate about making Dragonfly a live session album –  recording each track in one take with minimal editing. TylaDubya’s vision and concept for the album was to record both the video and audio outside to showcase nature’s beauty. Each track was shot in a different location and captures various sounds and visualizations of the environment that combine with each composition to celebrate life and nature. Dragonfly’s ten featured songs each have a corresponding video that can be viewed on the website or on TylaDubya’s YouTube channel.
